Las Vegas Market Awards Three Gift+Home Exhibitors for Innovation and Creativity in Visual Merchandising
AT LAS VEGAS MARKET — (Aug. 4, 2011) — Three gift and home décor exhibitors were recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Visual Merchandising at Gift+Home at the 2011 Summer Las Vegas Market.
Yessica’s, Couronne Company and Alef Design were among those recognized for creating innovative and visually appealing displays to attract strong retail buyers and traffic to their spaces.
“We’re very pleased with ourselves,” said Amanda Cotcher, sales representative for Couronne Company. “Sales numbers have increased from last summer. The award is a great way to cap off the show season. We’re thrilled!”
A panel of expert judges, including celebrity designer Monica Pedersen (HGTV), home products/trends editor Julie Smith Vincenti and Home Accents Today Product Editor Tracy Bulla, evaluated the spaces on booth size, innovation, creativity, technique and aesthetic. The three winners excelled in delivering not only beautiful merchandising displays, but also in allowing buyers to visualize how the products could be displayed in a retail environment for turnkey use.
“Judging was tough this year. There are a lot of great displays which made the process a little more competitive,” said Pedersen. “The biggest thing we were looking for throughout the judging process was whether the spaces were able to tell the story of the product, make you want to pick it up, buy it and take it home. These three did just that.”
Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market continues to position World Market Center Las Vegas as a complete home marketplace. It aims to boost the gift industry via a large-scale trade event that fuses the best gift resources for buyers on the West Coast in an unrivaled market destination.
“This is the first time we’ve showed at Market,” said Gary Lee of Alef Design. “We usually show at CES where we sell to Best Buy. Here, we are working with specialty store Neiman Marcus. They ordered our jewelry boxes for holiday, which is great. We’ve enjoyed Las Vegas Market tremendously. The award is beautiful and very much appreciated.”
According to Marsha Yessick, owner of Yessica’s, “This was the first time in three days that I left the booth. I didn’t know they were coming to present the award, so ran right back over!” Yessica’s is known for its lampshades, lamps, pillows and chandeliers. All products are made in Chattanooga, Tenn. “It’s very exciting,” stated Yessick. “Summer Market is great. I think World Market Center has done an incredible job of marketing the show and can’t wait to come back next year!”
Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market featured a strong variety of dynamic gift products and lines. Gift+Home temporaries, located on the 5th floor of Building C, joined the hundreds of permanent showrooms featuring top gift and décor lines at the Summer 2011 Las Vegas Market. Holding both events concurrently generates added value to exhibitors and buyers, allowing for vast crossover potential among the existing industry sectors.
