Mack Donates Mack® Granite® Model to Benefit Concrete Industry Management Educational Programs
LAS VEGAS (Feb. 4, 2015) – Mack Trucks donated a 2014 Mack® Granite® Axle Forward model to the tenth annual Concrete Industry Management (CIM) auction, taking place Feb. 4 during World of Concrete 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Bids on the Granite model, which is mounted with an 11 cubic-yard Bridgemaster mixer donated by McNeilus, will be accepted during the live portion of the auction. All proceeds will be used for the establishment and development of CIM programs across the nation. The CIM program awards students a four-year bachelor’s degree in Concrete Industry Management and is currently offered at Arizona State University, California State University – Chico, Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Texas State University.
“Mack is proud to contribute to the CIM auction with the donation of a Mack Granite model,” said Stu Russoli, Mack construction segment manager. “It’s entirely appropriate that Mack – the construction truck leader – once again is supporting CIM and their efforts to grow the concrete industry by educating the next generation of leaders and managers.”
Built on Mack’s rugged Cornerstone™ chassis, the donated Granite is powered by a 365-horsepower Mack MP7® engine with a rear engine power take off. The Granite model is also equipped with Mack GuardDog® Connect, a telematics solution that maximizes uptime through vehicle monitoring and proactive diagnostics. When GuardDog Connect detects a potential issue, it automatically notifies Mack OneCall™, a 24/7 customer support center, the customer and the customer’s pre-selected dealer to enable faster repairs and keep the truck on the job.
“The truck chassis and mixer donated by Mack Trucks and McNeilus is the strong foundation we need to help ensure a successful CIM Auction at the World of Concrete 2015,” said Michael Philipps, CIM Auction Committee chairman. “We are very appreciative that these two industry-leading manufacturers have collaborated on a significant donation to our auction. It speaks volumes to their commitment to the concrete industry and the importance they place on the CIM program.”
Mack has participated in the CIM Auction with a truck donation for several years, most recently in 2014.
