Versatile Kenworth T880 Mixer Leads Kenworth Lineup at World of Concrete
KIRKLAND, Wash., January 29, 2015 – Kenworth will feature its vocational flagship Kenworth T880 with a McNeilus 10.5-cubic yard mixer in its booth (C6212) during the 2015 World of Concrete Show Feb. 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Kenworth will once again be a prominent World of Concrete exhibitor, showcasing four of its construction models, including the heralded T880, which has quickly become Kenworth’s best-selling construction model.
The flagship Kenworth T880 Vocational Truck with the PACCAR MX-13 engine was recently selected as the 2015 ATD Truck of the Year by a panel of commercial trucking journalists and a professional driver. The T880 was ranked high for exceptional handling, power, torque and outstanding visibility from the driver’s seat.
The T880 mixer at the show is specified with an Allison 6-speed transmission, air-assisted hydraulic clutch, Hendrickson 46,000-pound rear suspension, panoramic windshield for enhanced visibility, and 5-piece Metton® hood for easier and faster repairs. The T880 utilizes a 2.1-meter wide, stamped aluminum cab, which is robotically assembled. The quiet cab has triple-sealed and robust doors and provides a comfortable 23 inches of room between the seats.
Also featured is a Kenworth W900S with a ConTech 10.5 cubic-yard mixer in a pink paint scheme to support Breast Cancer awareness. The W900s mixer is powered by a PACCAR MX-13 engine rated at 405-hp, driven through an Allison 7-speed transmission, and equipped with front and rear air disc brakes.
A compressed natural gas-powered Kenworth T440 with a standard 10.5 cubic-yard McNeilus mixer, 320-hp Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engine and Allison 6-speed transmission also will be displayed. A medium duty Kenworth T370 outfitted with a Putzmeister 20Z pumper, 350-hp PACCAR PX-9 engine and an Eaton 10-speed transmission completes Kenworth’s World of Concrete lineup.
“Productivity, durability, low operating cost, driver comfort and excellent performance in challenging applications are the hallmarks of Kenworth’s vocational trucks,” said Kurt Swihart, Kenworth marketing director. “Kenworth customers can count on Kenworth trucks to get the job done in their specific vocational application. We’re especially excited about the T880. As Kenworth continues to add new options to the T880, it is quickly becoming the truck of choice for many of our customers – from mixers to dumps to low boys.”
