Key Brands Support Tabletop Initiative to Launch at Summer 2013 Gift+Home Market in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, July 31, 2012 - Seven of the industry’s leading specialty tabletop suppliers have expressed support for the launch of a new tabletop collection at the Summer 2013 Gift + Home Market in Las Vegas. This new initiative is a central component of Phase One of International Market Center’s (IMC’s) three-phase plan to transform its World Market Center in Las Vegas into the preeminent gift and home marketplace in the Western United States.
Representatives from Alessi, Kim Seybert, Match, Michael Aram, Mottahedeh, Nambe and Vietri gathered in June to discuss market potential and offer strategic and tactical feedback to the plans. The group expressed enthusiasm and support for the project citing benefits including access to an established and growing western US and international buyer base, cross-category opportunities within the home furnishings and furniture markets, and exposure to new hospitality design distribution channels.
“It was gratifying to receive such a positive response, as well as such candid feedback, from this group of industry thought leaders”, said Dorothy Belshaw, president, Gift + Home Décor. “They expressed support for our plans to transform Las Vegas into the premier western gift and home marketplace, and helped develop a compelling strategic plan to create a new industry paradigm for cross-category merchandising, dramatic resource presentation, and synergistic business opportunities.”
According to Belshaw, the tabletop collection will feature customized showroom spaces prominently positioned as part of the “c-ONE” initiative in World Market Center’s Building C Lobby Level. This new, cross-category showcase of directional resources presented in a curated collection on the first floor of Building C, will include tabletop, gift, and home resources in both permanent and temporary presentations.
“Presentation of leading resources against the backdrop of C1’s modern soaring atrium filled with natural light, will serve as a ‘calling card’ for the broader Gift + Home Market,” said Belshaw. A confirmed list of participants will be announced later this year and previewed during the Winter 2013 Gift + Home at Las Vegas Market.
The three-phase plan, which begins in 2013, includes the introduction of new product categories featuring tabletop, home textiles and lifestyle collections, growth of existing categories, and re-merchandised presentations. Plans will transform the market for gift and home décor in Las Vegas and will afford buyers and sellers new opportunities in the gift and home channel. Phase One of this transformation begins in 2013 with the repositioning of existing Las Vegas market resources to refine and enrich category presentations, and the introduction of two dynamic new categories. Phases Two and Three will feature expansion of Home Décor resources to include specialty Home Textiles and the introduction of Gourmet, Kitchenware and Casual Tabletop.
Gift + Home at Las Vegas Market is a leading gift and home décor marketplace in the western U.S., presenting 800+ gift and home décor resources in an unrivaled market destination. Las Vegas Market features thousands of furniture, gift and home décor lines across 5 million-plus square feet, allowing for cross-category commerce among the gift, furniture, home décor and accessory industries.
In 2013, Las Vegas Market will take place January 28-Feb 1, 2013, and the Summer Las Vegas Market will be held July 29-August 2, 2013. In 2014, the winter show will be held January 27-31, 2014, and the Summer Market will occur July 28-August 1, 2014. Market dates have been carefully planned to optimize opportunities for gift suppliers and buyers, avoiding significant overlap with established gift and home shows.
