World Market Center Las Vegas Recognizes Gift+HomeTM Exhibitors for Outstanding Achievement in Visual Merchandising
LAS VEGAS —February 3, 2011— Three gift and home décor temporary exhibitors were recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Visual Merchandising at Gift+HomeTM at the recent Las Vegas Market. This was the first-of-its kind awards presentation for the fast-growing gift sector at World Market Center Las Vegas.
Lynne’s Whim of Swampscott, Mass., Rustic Ironwerks of Chino Valley, Ariz., and The Light Garden of Oceanside, Calif., were recognized for creating original and visually stunning merchandising displays to attract retail buyers to their spaces.
“It’s great to be acknowledged by designers,” said Ronni Lazar of Rustic Ironwerks, manufacturers of rustic metal art and home accents. “They look at us unbiased and see visually that we have gone to a lot of work to put this together.”
A panel of expert judges, including celebrity designer Monica Pedersen (HGTV), home products/trends editor Julie Smith Vincenti and Home Accents Today Product Editor Tracy Bulla, evaluated the spaces on innovation, technique and aesthetic. The three winners excelled in delivering not only beautiful merchandising, but also in allowing buyers to see first-hand visual representations of how the products could be displayed in a retail environment.
“For me, the creative displays in all three of these booths were both eye catching and easy to understand,” said Pedersen. “The intimate spaces created through furnishings, rugs and featured lighting instantly showed us just how powerful their products are in creating a special mood in any environment”
Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market continues to move World Market Center Las Vegas forward in its vision of being a total home marketplace. It aims to revitalize the gift industry by presenting a trade event that consolidates the best gift resources for buyers on the West Coast in an unsurpassed market destination.
“Every customer during the Las Vegas Market has been a new customer,” said Lynne Rutkowski of Lynne’s Whim, who specializes in hostess aprons handmade in the U.S. “It’s been great.”
“We’re very happy with this Market,” said Lazar. “Our numbers are up and I think it’s the combination of new product offerings, our display looking the best it ever has, and increased market attendance that really makes the difference.”
Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market featured an abundance of dynamic gift products and lines, many from first time exhibitors, along with new destinations dedicated to garden and gourmet resources. Gift+Home temporaries, located on the 5th floor of Building C, joined the 1,200-plus exhibitors at the January 2011 Las Vegas Market, including hundreds of permanent showrooms featuring top gift and décor lines. Holding both events simultaneously generates added value to exhibitors and buyers, allowing for vast crossover potential among the existing industry sectors.
