Ahead of the CurvePanel Discussion and Webcast to Shed Light on Upcoming Season’s Hottest Design Trends
Summer Market Panel to Feature Diamond & Baratta and Jeffrey Alan Marks
LAS VEGAS – (June 9, 2011) — Attendees of the Summer 2011 Las Vegas Market, Aug. 1-5, will once again be offered an exclusive preview of the horizon's hottest design trends by the industry's foremost authorities when World Market Center Las Vegas presents the fourth installment of its signature Ahead of the Curve presentation on Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. in Building C, Suite C352.
With their fingers on the pulse of what’s hot, renowned design team William Diamond and Anthony Baratta will join Jeffrey Alan Marks, a highly acclaimed designer and star of Bravo TV’s “Million Dollar Decorators,” to bring Summer Las Vegas Market to the masses as they deliver their top picks during a live panel discussion and webcast. Moderated by iVillage contributor and TODAY Show style guru Susanna Salk, the designers will give an exclusive look at what they consider the hottest new items and trends they have discovered while scouting World Market Center Las Vegas’ expansive campus. The dynamic presentation featuring video vingettes will be followed by a question-and-answer segment where members of the audience and those logged onto the webcast may submit questions. Those on Twitter may also join the conversation via a live Twitter chat.
“Ahead of the Curve is such a fun and unique program that really resonates with Market attendees as well as designers and media from around the world,” said Salk, who has moderated the program since its inception in August 2007. “World Market Center Las Vegas works hard to secure the world’s top designers to shed light on what’s happening in our industry. This year’s group is no exception. Each will bring his own unique perspective to share what they love, what moves them and what will be hot in the upcoming months.”
One of the hottest design teams in the industry, Diamond & Barrata have designed hundreds of one-of-a-kind residences in the U.S. and abroad during their three-decade partnership and have established a reputation for fastidious architecture and luxurious furnishings that harmonize to create homes that are highly personal, functional and original. Known for their enlarged scale and genius color interpretation, as well as their gold-medal perfection, their bold and vivacious style is not for the fainthearted.
Jeffrey Alan Marks is foremost focused on clean lines, classic proportions and traditional design values, though always with a whimsical flourish. From his offices housed in an old red-brick warehouse in Santa Monica, Marks’ 20-year-old firm designs and develops luxury homes in America and the United Kingdom. They’ve also designed expansive commercial projects with some of the more notable projects being Tavern, the famed Suzanne Goin restaurant in Brentwood, and The Hungry Cat in Santa Monica. Marks is viewed among the key players in the Los Angeles design community and is included in the San Francisco Antique Show’s Designers’ Circle as well as is a host committee member of the Los Angeles Antique Show.
